Share and Export
Conspecta gives you several ways to pull your work out of the platform (for collaborators, team meetings, regulatory submissions, or external tools) and to share it with people inside and outside your team. Exports are always free; they don't count toward your usage.
Export an Entire Project
You can export everything in a project in a single download. Open Settings (gear icon) and go to Export, then pick a project and click Export All Project Data. The download includes:
- Planner tasks (CSV)
- Inventory, Facility, Suppliers, Orders, Samples (Excel)
- Notes as individual PDFs
- Genetics sequences with metadata (Excel)
- Flow Cytometry raw FCS files
- Image Analysis results (Excel)
- A summary file listing what was exported and when
The export runs on the server. You can close the dialog box and come back later. Large projects can take several minutes.
Tip: Only project owners can run a full project export. If you're not the owner, ask them to run it for you.
Export Raw Images
Microscopy and uploaded images aren't bundled into the standard project export because they can be huge. To get them, use Raw Images in the Export section instead. This produces a compressed archive (.tar.gz) of every image in the project.
Raw image exports can be gigabytes or more. The job runs in the background; you'll be able to download it when it's ready.
Export a Single Workspace
In the Export section, every workspace also has its own export button:
- Planner tasks as CSV (titles, statuses, priorities, assignees, dates)
- Inventory items as Excel (quantities, lots, pricing, supplier links)
- Facility locations as Excel (storage details, conditions, compliance)
- Suppliers as Excel (contacts, addresses, lead times)
- Orders as Excel (line items, dates, statuses)
- Samples as Excel (types, custom metadata, collection info, locations)
- Notes as individual PDFs in a ZIP
- Genetics as Excel (names, types, lengths, annotations)
- Flow Cytometry raw FCS files in a ZIP, organized by folder
- Image Analysis detection results and statistics as Excel
Export from Inside a Workspace
You don't have to go to Settings. Most workspaces let you export directly: select items with the checkboxes, then use the export option in the toolbar to download just those rows. This is available to every team member, not just project owners.
Export All Projects at Once
If you own multiple projects, scroll to the bottom of the Export section and use Export All Projects. Conspecta queues an export for each project and shows progress as each one finishes. Each project downloads as its own file, so you can start working with the completed ones while others are still processing.
File Formats
Images
- PNG/JPEG for slides and documents
- TIFF at full resolution for publication-quality outputs
- Optionally with annotations burned in
Data Tables
- CSV for spreadsheets, R, Python, and other statistical tools
- Excel (
.xlsx) for formatted spreadsheets with context columns (supplier links, storage location, and so on)
Sequences
- FASTA for the standard sequence format
- GenBank for sequences with features and annotations
- Map images for plasmid maps, circular or linear
Flow Cytometry
- FCS raw files compatible with FlowJo, FCS Express, and other tools
- Excel statistics tables with outliers highlighted and gate notes attached
- PDF reports with plots, gates, and statistics
Sharing With Collaborators
For collaborators inside your team, every project is already shared with everyone on the team. No extra setup needed. Permissions are controlled at the team level. See Manage your team for roles and access.
For collaborators outside your team, exports are usually the right path. Run a per-workspace export, hand them the file, and they can open it in whatever tool they prefer.
Next Steps
- Build figures to compose publication-ready visuals before exporting
- Manage your team to control who has access inside the team
- Compute usage to confirm that exports never consume usage
